Alva Lee Mitchell 1905-1988 was the husband of Rosa Laura Woodall (Mitchell) 1911--2010. Father of Ray Douglas Mitchell. Son of Elijah "Lige or Dado" Richardson Mitchell 1870-1944 and Nancy Frances "Fanny or Fannie" Sumners Mitchell 1872-1944. Paternal grandparents were Unknown Mitchell born unknown - died before 1950 census and Delila "Dillie" Cobble (Mitchell) abt 1814 or 1816 - after Census of 1880.

Alva Lee Mitchell, 82, of Dellrose died Thursday (September 15, 1988) in Crestwood Hospital, Huntsville, following a long illness.

Funeral services were held Saturday at the Dellrose United Methodist Church with the Rev. Glen Phillips and the Rev. Marcus Nichell officiating. Burial followed in the Shiloh Cemetery. Higgins Funeral Home was in charge of services.

A native of Lincoln County, he was the son of the late E. R. and Nancy Sumners Mitchell. He was a dairy farmer and a member of the Dellrose United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Rosa Laura Mitchell; one son, Ray D. Mitchell of Decatur, Alabama; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
