Mrs. Benjamin H. (Jessie B. ) Capps, 80, Moundville,MO, died 4:25 a.m. Sunday at Nevada City Hospital. She had been in failing health several months.
Born Sept 27, 1894 in Vernon county, MO, she was the daughter of John and Anna Swart Adamson. She was married Feb 22, 1915 at Fort Scott, Kan. to Benjamin H. Capps.
A lifelong resident of Vernon county, Mrs. Capps was a member of the Garland, Kan., United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Benjamin of the home; six sons: Ralph Capps of Moundville, Clarence Capps and Willard Capps , both of Downey,Calif.; Harold Capps of Clinton,MO; Donald Capps of El Dorado Springs,MO; and Ben Capps,Jr. of Joplin; 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Services were held this afternoon at Ferry Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Harold Ball officiating.
Music was provided by a duet, Mr & Mrs M. O. Couch, who say "In the Garden" and "I Know Who Holds Tomorrow", accompanied by Mrs. Chester Whitehead, organist.
Pallbearers were Ralph Capps, Harold Capps, Clarence Capps, Willard Capps, Donald Capps and Ben Capps,Jr.
Interment was in Clarksburg cemetery, Bourbon county, Kan.
