ELKHART -- Demond Avery Clark, 45, died Thursday (Sept. 3, 2009) in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, South Bend.

He was born May 20, 1964, in Elkhart to Theodore Sr. and Hattie Clark, both of whom survive along with three daughters, Deondra A. Clark of Plainfield, and Jassinda and Antonia Clark, both of Elkhart; three sisters, Pambama (Imhotep) Adisa of Indianapolis, Davetta (Ralph) Hammond of Houston, Texas, and Shirley (Michael) Grossnickle of South Bend; five brothers, Murth (Rebecca) Ramsey of Indianapolis, Damon (Theresa) Ramsey of Columbus, Ohio, Theodore (Dawn) Clark Jr. of San Juan Capistrano, Calif., and Devon (Cathy) Clark and Floyd Wagner, both of Elkhart.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Horace and Julia Clark, and grandparents, Mack Neal and Nicy Gary.

Mr. Clark was a 1982 graduate of Elkhart Central High School. He had worked at Roosevelt Elementary School with the after-care program until his health started to fail.

Friends may call one hour prior to the 11 a.m. Saturday funeral service at Community Baptist Church, 228 Chapman St. Burial will follow at Prairie Street Cemetery
