Services are held for Mrs. L. W. Sherman
Funeral services were held last Thursday afternoon from Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Simpson County for Mrs. Julia Fortenberry Sherman, 64, who died Wednesday at Simpson General Hospital. Rev. Ennis Sullivan and Rev. Foy Killingsworth officiated and interment followed in the church cemetery with Saulters Funeral Home in charge. Nephews served as pallbearers.
Mrs. Sherman was a native of the Silver Creek area but had resided in the Pleasant Hill Community for many years. She was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, L. W. Sherman of Rt. 2 New Hebron; two sons, David Sherman and Dan Sherman, both of Jackson; two daughters, Mrs. Travis May of Mendenhall and Mrs. Mitchell Cody of Rt. 2, New Hebron; two brothers, Rex Fortenberry and Ike Fortenberry, both of Silver Creek; three sisters, Mrs. Ethel Bourne of Columbia, Miss. Betty Herrington of Oakland, Miss. And Mrs. Oscar Butler of Prentiss; 12 grandchildren
