MORRISON, Ill. - Services for Chester A. "Chet" Deets, 84, of 600 N. Orange St., will be 10 a.m. Thursday at the United Methodist Church, Morrison, preceded by a prayer service in the church chapel. Burial will be in Oak Knoll Memorial Park, Sterling.
Mr. Deets died Monday, Dec. 1, 1997, at Pleasant View Nursing Home, Morrison.
He farmed in the Malvern area until 1965 and then worked at General Electric until 1978.
He was born Jan. 30, 1913, in rural Emerson. He married Marion McDearmon in 1939 in rural Emerson.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Beth Manchester; sons, Lawrence and Arlyn; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Hazel Haberer, Nellie Steward, Bessie Perkins and Marian Mangan; and brothers, Mason, Lloyd and Charlie.
