The gravestone says that Mary Mead, wife of Harvey Keeler, died Jan. 1, 1868, 73 years, 6 months, and 20 days. The stone seems to say, "Hervey" Keeler, but the state index, compiled in 1937, says Harvey. However, Ridgefield vital records show that a Hervey Keeler was born Nov. 28, 1786, son of Thaddeus and Ruth Keeler. Ridgefield records do not mention a Mary Mead.
