Joseph Morton, 83, died at his residence, 2308 Long street, yesterday.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Evelyn Morton; four daughters, Mrs. Ruby Ray and Mrs. Roxie Seeley, of Chattanooga; Mrs. Bertha Martin, of Old Fort, Tenn., and Mrs. Lois Gibbs, of Cleveland, Tenn.; six sons, Jewell, Harrison and Samuel, of Chattanooga; Oscar, of Harlan, Ky.; Ray, of Cleveland, Tenn., and James Morton, of the Hawaiian Islands.
Funeral plans will be announced later by the Smith Funeral service.

Funeral services for Joseph Morton, 83, who died at his home Saturday, will be held from the residence of his daughter, Mrs. Roxie Seeley, 2131 East Twenty-seventh street, this morning at 10 o'clock, with the Revs. A. A. Pruitt and Herbert Morgan officiating.
Interment will be in Union Grove cemetery, under the direction of the Smith Funeral service.
