Leona I. Stantz
MONTPELIER- Leona I. Stantz, 91, 525 Empire Street, Montpelier, died early Wednesday, April 8, 1992, in Community Hospitals of Williams County-Montpelier following a lingering illness.
Born at Williams Center on April 1, 1901, she was the daughter of Clara (Nunn) and John Humbarger.
A lifelong area resident she was the widow of Oliver D. Stantz who died in January 1986.
Surviving are three sons, Cleo of Bryan and Paul and Maurice, both of Montpelier; three daughters, Mrs. Russell (Viola)Hopp of Hillsdale, Mich., Mrs. Leota Grubbs of Montgomery, Mich., and Mrs. Paul (Lois) Clark of Osseo, Mich., 21 grandchildren; 57 great-grandchildren; 34 great-great-grandchildren; and a brother Hubert Humbarger of South Bend., Ind.
Sevices will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in the wilson-Geesey Funeral Home, Montpelier, with the Rev. Todd Fetters of the Lakeview United Brethren Church officiating. Burial will be in West Buffalo Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday. Preferred memorials are to Williams County Home Health Care.
