Mary Lucille Dowling was the bride of Hubert Derringer living in Lebanon for less than a year and was with child when she began suffering chest pains. The regular Dr. was away so a visiting Dr. was called in to attend to her. She was given a shot and death immediately followed, which led family to believe that the shot was a contributing if not primary factor to her untimely death. The official cause of death at the time was basically listed as a heart attack. Her parents were devastated at not only the loss of their eldest child, but also the loss of what was to be their eldest grandchild. Lucille was known for her superior intelligence. Her widower Hubert eventually remarried. This information was given to me directly be her sister, my Aunt Ethel. Lucille untimely death was discussed often for the next 50 years, until Aunt Ethel's death, almost exactly 50 years later. I intend for the memory of Aunt Lucille's short life to never be forgotten, and she will remain alive though us all forever. - Roger Barlow
