Mr. Hill was born on February 1, 1919 on a cold snowy day in Stonewall County and was delivered by the local doctor who arrived by horse and buggy to Hugh and Polly Hill. He had four brothers of whom he all survived.
He went to the CC's and later enlisted in the army in 1941. He served for seven years. After WWII was over he married his wife Iona Pemberton of Lockney and was married 42 years until her death in 1988. Mr. Hill was an electrical lineman for Southwestern Public Service for many years and retired from Civil Service in 1979 as Deputy O&M Chief at Reese AFB.
He is survived by son, John Hill and wife Joan of Amarillo; daughter, Karla Seymour and husband Brad of Dripping Springs; grandchildren, Josh Plyler, Ashley Compton, Casey Seymour, Shrae Hill, and Brycen Hill; and great-grandchildren, Tiffany Neygen, Jason Plyler, and Braylon Compton.
Mr. Hill was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Iona; and a daughter, Trudy Alona Hill; and all four of his brothers.
We are grateful for our dad and honor him as a veteran, husband, dad, grandfather, and great-grandfather. We will miss him very much but we mourn as those who have hope to be united again. We love you, Dad.
