Julius Wayne "Mitch" Mitchell, 77, died Friday, Sept. 11, 2009, at his residence in Russellville, Alabama.

He was born Feb. 18, 1932 in Red Bay, AL, to Harry Clovis and Ludie Inez Humpries Mitchell.

He served his Country from 1948-1955 in the US Army and the U.S. Air Force.

He retired to Russellville, AL after working 35 years for John-Manville Corp. in Waukegan, IL.
He was a lifelong fan of Alabama Crimson Tide Football and enjoyed Hunting, Fishing and Playing the Lottery.

He loved and served his Family and will be Dearly missed.

Services will be Monday, September 14, at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel in Red Bay, AL with Bro. A.G. Stepp officiating.
Burial with Military Honors will follow in Burnout Cemetery.

Survivors include his Wife of 53 years, Betty Mitchell of Russellville; five Children, Brenda Gunter and Husband, Philip, of Tupelo; Anthony Mitchell of Russellville; Jeri Reasor and Husband, Leo; and Saretha Watts and Husband, Stuart Bowler; all of Zion, IL and Donna Goggans and Husband, Brandon, of Russellville; 12 Granddaughters; seven Great Grandsons; four Great Granddaughters; and several Nieces and Nephews.

He was preceded in death by his Parents; a Brother, Hoyt Mitchell; and a Sister, Jerri Lawrence.

Visitation will be today from 4-7 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home in Red Bay and until Service time on Monday.
