COMMERCE — Louie Goates, 70, passed away in Glenn Heights, Texas on Friday, September 11, 2009.

He was born on August 29, 1939 to parents Roy and Eulamae Goates in Deleon Texas.

Louie worked for Texas Tag in Wolfe City for more than 30 years and retired at the age of 67. Louie and Wanda Allison were married on April 12, 1963.

Louie is survived by his wife Wanda, daughters; Deborah Daugherty of Oak Leaf, Texas, Cindy Knight of Powderly Texas, and Mattie Peterson of McKinney, Texas;, one son, Randy Hoskison of Palestine, Texas; sisters Madell Vinson, and Diddy Fields; three brothers; seven grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Monday August 14, 2009, at Commerce Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Kevin Willmott officiating.

Burial is in Shiloh Cemetery in Klondike.

Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Cole Hoskison, Zan Hoskison, Billy Knight, Chris Peterson, John Vo, Joshua Cheney, and Michael Daugherty.

"And the Lord God will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away." Rev.21: 4
