Joan Baughman Grant, 77, a resident of the Barnabus Court at the Brevillier Village, died Sunday, November 11, 2007 at the Ball Pavilion.

Born in Brookville on November 23, 1929 she was the daughter of the late Victor Jay and Sara Painter Baughman. She was married for 46 years to Ralph W. Grant, Sr. He preceded her in death in 1994.

Mrs. Grant attended the First Presbyterian Church of the Covenant where she had taught Sunday school at one time.

A resident of Erie, Mrs. Grant had worked for a number of places in Erie including the Gertrude Barber Center. She had been employed at Marx Toy Co., Erie Technological Products and the American Tining and Galvanizing Co. She also had worked at Sylvania Company in Brookville.

Mrs. Grant had been a grandparents volunteer for a number of programs including the Gertrude Barber Center and GECAC and also did volunteer work at the Shriners Hospital and the YWCA. She had been a girl scout leader, served on the Erie Housing Board, was an avid reader and Penn State football fan. Mrs. Grant enjoyed doing cross word puzzles.

Surviving is one daughter, Mrs. Tim (Mary) Larson of Erie; two sons, Dale J. (wife Becky) Grant and Ralph W. (wife Sonya) Grant Jr., all of Erie; four grandchildren; one brother, Leo "Bud" Baughman of Warren; one sister, Mary Ellen McManigle of Brookville and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, David Grant; two grandchildren, Jonathan Dylewski and Timothy Larson II; two sisters, Jean Burns and Louise Neel; and, one brother in infancy, Carl Baughman.

Funeral services were held on November 15 with the Rev. Charles Wertz officiating. Interment will follow in the Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.
