Obituary

Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother Adeline Weisser Gunther passed away at her home in Salt Lake City on February 21, 2002 of causes incident to Alzheimer's disease. She was 86.

Addy was born on May 21, 1915 in South Salt Lake to Rosalie Luzio and Gustaf Weisser. She married her sweetheart, Eric Kurt Gunther, in Salt Lake City on August 19, 1933. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple in June of 1976.

Addy was a superb athlete. She was a cheerleader during junior high school, the only female member of the group. Later she became an accomplished and daring high diver. She was a member of the Shamrockettes women's softball team, and participated in numerous bowling and golf tournaments.

She is survived by her loving husband of 68 years; sons, Eric (Julie), Ron (Louise); daughters, Patty (Larry) Olson, Rose (Jeff) Hawker. 11 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, by all seven of her brothers and sisters, and by her great grandson, Eric.

Mother loved life. She loved the outdoors, her bluebell flowers, the birds and wildlife that populated her yard, and all the majesty of nature. But above all she loved her family. Her husband, children, and grandchildren were her special treasures.

"You're the flower of my heart, sweet Adeline".

A special thanks to Gerie, JoLynn, Frankie and Rocky Mountain Hospice for their loving and tender care of mother during her illness.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday Feb. 26, 2002 at 12 noon at the Heughs Canyon Ward, 6300 South 2300 East. Visitation will be Monday from 6-8 p.m. at the Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So. State St. and Tues. at the church from 11-11:45 a.m. Interment Larkin Sunset Lawn.

The family wishes to acknowledge with gratitude Addy's special relationship with "the aunts and uncles" John and Ann Gunther, Werner (deceased) and Mary Gunther, and Howard and Dorothy Harman.
