John T. Milford Sr., was the fourth and youngest son of Robert Milford and his first wife, Margaret (Mitchell) Milford.
John was born in 1760 in Ireland and he passed away in Anderson County, South Carolina, in 1837, and is buried at First Creek Baptist Church.
He was a fourth Milford Brother who is known to have fought in the Revolutionary War and was a private of the Regiment commanded by Colonel. Pickens. He entered service as a volunteer of Captain Logan's company, under Colonel Pickens.
John Milford Sr., of Abbeville County, South Carolina, married his first wife. Mary Polly Fleming on Saturday, 03 May 1783. She was from Rowan County, North Carolina and the daughter of George and Margaret Fleming of Rowan County, North Carolina. After the death of Mary Polly (Fleming) Milford, John remarried, and was married to Rebecca Phagan Milford at time of his death in 1837. There were children of both marriages.
