Allen was the son of Davis Earl Boulware Sr. & Julia Valerie Levister. He was the brother of Davis Earl Boulware Jr., Kenneth Wayne Boulware, George Steven Boulware, Samuel Alex Boulware, Arthur Rex Boulware, Stella Boulware(Locklair), Martha Ree Boulware(Keller), Agnes Dean Boulware(Tanner), Emily Boulware(Raley), & Joyce Ann Boulware(Sawyer).
He and brothers, Rex & Stevie, along with Steve Keller, organized a country/ rock band called "The 25th Hour" and cut a record in Nashville, Tennessee ,"By The River" (composed & vocalized by Rex) b/w "I'm Moving" (composed & vocalized by Allen). Not known for sure whether the record was ever released in mass quantity or whether it received any air play at all, but it was an excellent record. Allen & band performed in Myrtle Beach, S.C. along side another band which would later became known as ~ "Alabama".
Allen was married and had two children, Allen L. Boulware Jr. & Allyson Boulware-Burriss. He also served his country in the United States Navy, as did his older brother, Davis Earl. He worked in service maintenance and was a member of the Greenhill Baptist Church.

Visitation to be held at the Pope Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 29,1993 between 7 & 9pm and his funeral services to take place at the Greenhill Baptist Church on Thursday, December 30, 1993 at 3pm and Reverend Mark Hathcoy will be the clergy present. Allen's remains are then to be interred in the Cool Branch Baptist Church Cemetery.
