Luthera died from an abscess on her lung and never really got over a bout with pneumonia. On the day of her death, my father, Albert, was supposed to be in a Christmas play at school. With his mama so very sick, he did not want to go. His mother told him, "Albert, you be a good boy and go on now." On his way home from the play, his cousin came running up to him and told him his mama was dead. Albert was 11 years old.

Daughter of Isaac and Rachel (Stephens) Smith. Siblings were W. L. and James.

Inscription on headstone says Luethera wife of J. L. Inman
