Paul V. Martindale, 54. died at S:30 a. m. Monday at his home, one and onehalf miles northeast of Onward. He had been ill of a heart ailment since the first of the year, but death was unexpected.

He was born in Fulton county March 7, 1895. the son of Albert and Minnie (Robins) Martindale.
About 50 years ago he married Zinnie Bowen and since then they had lived at the present home. He served in the Army during World War I for a brief period.

Surviving are the wife and parents: three step - sons, "Walter Gustin, Onward. Willis Bowen, route 4. Peru, and Robert Bowen, South Bend: three step-sisters. Mrs. Helen Smith. Chili, Mrs. Ruth Vincent. South Bend, and Mrs. Marjorie Bockover. Peru. A stepson, Ralph Bowen. and a stepdaughter, Mrs. Eva Dixon, preceded him in death.

The body is at the Wolf funeral home at Walton, where friends may call after 7 p. m. Monday. Funeral services will be held at 3 p. m. (DST) Wednesday at the Pipe Creek Church of the Brethren.
The Rev. Thomas Shively will officiate and burial will be made in the Metzger cemetery.
