THE LEBANON ENTERPRISE, page 3, Friday, Jan. 29, 1915. DALLAS SIMMS DEAD.

J. Dallas Simms, aged 78 years, formerly well known citizen of the county, died in Louisianna where since leaving this city several years ago he had resided. The telegram received by relatives here announcing his death did not state particulars. It is known, however that he has been in bad health for the past two or three years and that on more than one occasion during that time his condition was regarded as critical. Mr. Simms spent some time here last summer and fall en route to Louisiana from a visit to relatives in Colorado, and seemed to improve during his stay here. Hardening of the arteries is thought to have been the cause of his death.

The remains will arrive here today for burial. The funeral services will held tomorrow morning at St. Augustine's church, and the interment will follow in St. Augustine's cemetery.

Mr. Simms was a native of this county and for many years was one of its most prominent farmers. He was also extensively engaged in handling mules and shipped thousands to the Southern market. The latter business he continued after leaving Lebanon to make his home in Franklin, La. Mr. Simms was a consistent member of the Catholic church. His wife, was Miss Channie Abell, daughter of the late Dr. Samuel Abell, died several years ago.

Mr. Simms is survived by five sons and two daughters. They are Joseph and John Simms, of Franklin, La. Robert, Sam, and James Simms, of Gardner, Colorado; Mrs. Jesse Abell, of New Mexico and Miss Bessie Parga, of Pueblo, Colo. He is survived by one sister Miss Bettie Simms, of Gardner, Col.
