Isaac "Ray" Cowart, 74, died Thursday, Feb. 25, 1999, in Vancleave.
Mr. Cowart, a native of Stone County, was a retired chipper from Ingalls Shipbuilding in Pascagoula. He was a member of Magnolia Baptist Church in Vancleave.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Isaac Malone and Lillie Josephene Cowart; four brothers, Frank L. Maples, Buddy Cowart, Ellis Cowart and Eustis White; and a sister, Ruth Byrd.
Survivors include his wife, Ouida Cowart of Vancleave; two daughters, Martha Rae McCoy and Georgia Ann Besse, both of Vancleave; two sons, Malone Cowart of Houston, Texas, and Allen E. "Roy" Cowart of Vancleave; a brother, Ted White of Vancleave; 10 grandchildren; and seven great- grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 tonight at Holder-Wells Funeral Home in Moss Point. A service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Magnolia Baptist Church in Vancleave with burial in the church cemetery.
