Claimed by Death
After an illness of several months, John Stanford Bumgarner, aged 50 years, well known farmer residing near Tatums, passed away at 12:05 a.m. Monday, at the home of his son, Tom Bumgarner in Davis.
Funeral services were held at the Christian church, this city, at 3 p.m., the pastor, Rev. E. E. Watson conducting the service. Burial was in Green Hill cemetery beside his son Glen, w ho passed away exactly two months ago as a result of a car accident.
Mr. Bumgarner was born Nov. 13, 1891, in Mills county, Texas. At an early age he moved to Oklahoma and most of his days were spent on farms either near Davis or in Texas. On Jan. 30, 1915, he married Miss Sue Digby of the Woodland community. He was a member of the Church of Christ at Harmonville.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Sue Bumgarner, and one daughter, Evelyn, of the home address; five sons, Hermut, Ralph, Otha Dale and Bobby Jack of near Tatums, and Tom of Davis, Okla.; three sisters, Mrs. Frankie Flippins, Wagoner, Okla.; Mrs. Frona Burton, Randlett, Okla.; Mrs. Myrtle Raper, Hazen, Ark.; two brothers, Stanley and Scott of Woodland; two half brothers, Ted Pierce, Archer City, Texas, and Kenneth Pierce, St. Louis, Mo.; and four half sisters, Mrs. Velma Culbreath, Wilson, Okla.; Mrs. Vesta Watson, Loco, Okla.; Mrs. Minnie Morrow, Kilgore, Texas, and Mrs. Willie Smith, Vernon, Texas.
