He was the son of Ulrich Reinhart/Rinehart/Reinhard (spelling varies) and Barbara Maria Sauer (see Ulrich Reinhard's bio below John's at the bottom of the page). He was born and died in Coventry Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania. He married Hannah Frick about 1770 in Chester County.

He served as a Private in the Revolutionary War under Capt. Brumback & L. Col. Thomas Bull in the 2nd Batt., Chester County.

He served as Chester County Commissioner in 1801 & Chester County Treasurer in 1806. He built the first Woolen Mill in Chester County.

ULRICH REINHARD (father of John Reinhard):
He was the son of Peter Aaron Reinhardt & Margaretha Kupferschmied. He was born August 12 1704 and christened August 21 1704 in Sumiswald, Bern, Switzerland. He died February 12 1787 aged 82 years in Coventry, Chester County, Pennsylvania. He married 1st to Barbara Maria Sauer in Switzerland. He married 2nd to Hannah, who died shortly after their marriage. He married 3rd to Magdalena Jahn who died after him possibly September 26 1813 in Maryland.

He and his first wife Barbara arrived in Philadelphia aboard the ship "Hope" on August 28, 1733. He lived first in Germantown, Philadelphia, PA, where he started the first print shop in Pennsylvania with his brother-in-law Christopher Sauer [Sower]. He later bought land and settled near Parker Ford, Chester County, Pennsylvania.
