Lloyd, as he preferred to be called, was a trained musician, educated at the Kansas City Conservatory of Music. He was a pianist and arranger, performing with bands in the early 20th century. He was the owner of the Cash Poultry Company in Galveston. His hobby was model railroading and he wrote contributory articles to hobby railroad magazines.
Lloyd and Ada had no children, however Ada had two children by an earlier spouse.
