Funeral: 10 a.m. Monday at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church in Vancleave.
VANCLEAVE --- Cecil Bennett, 73, died Saturday, Aug. 5, 2000, in Vancleave.
Mr. Bennett was born May 15, 1927, in Duckhill, and had been a resident of Jackson County for 35 years. He was a member of Pipefitters Local No. 60 of New Orleans.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle Bennett; a son, David Bennett; his parents, Rennie and Iuta Bennett; and two sisters, Gladys Broadus and Katherine Jarnigan.
Survivors include four daughters, Sue Bennett, Paula Deakle, Diane Lyons, all of Vancleave, and Pam Pennell of Ocean Springs; two sons, Guy Bennett of Alaska and Dennis Bennett of Vancleave; three sisters, Christine McCardle of Vancleave, Joann Peri of Chalmette, La., and Virginia Morgan of Wiggins; a brother, Billy Bennett of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 tonight at Jackson County Funeral Services in Escatawpa. A service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church in Vancleave where friends may call one hour before service time. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
