CHARLES E. REDWAY
Charles E. Redway, 61, of Grandfield died Sept. 6 in a Lawton hospital. Funeral services were Sept. 9 at the First Baptist Church Grandfield, with Barry Hardin, pastor, officiating. interment was in the Grandfield Memorial Cemetery with Gray Funeral Home in cbarge of arrangements.
Redway was born April 3, 1936, in Chattanooga. His parents were James Wilfred Redway and Roxie Elma Wilcoxson, now deceased He was raised by John and Lena Redway, also deceased. He grew up north of Grandfield in the Chattanooga area, graduating from Chattariooga High School in 1954. He married Geneva Smith on May 17. 1954, in Chattanooga. He was a former employee at Fort Sill, working for Spartin Aircraft and later in Civil Service. Redway moved to Grandfield in 1964 and became a full-time farmer in 1967. He was also an officer of the Oklahoma Young Farmers and the Oklahoma Shorthorn Association, a former Grandfield School Board member and a member of the First Baptist Church, where he had been a Sunday school teacher and was involved with the youth activities.

Survivors include: his wife, Geneva of the home; one son, John and daughter-in-law Jean Ann Redway of Grandfield; two daughters Donna and son-in-law Mike Nill of Grandfield and Janet and son-in-law Casey Jones of Crowder; four brothers, Paul Redway of Fairview, Jack Redway of Paradise, Calif., James Redway of Mesa, Ariz., and David Redway of Holbrook, Ariz.; one stepbrother, Bobby Maxwell of Weaverville, Calif.; two sisters, Ella Kubnz of Yuba City, Calif., and Debris Wallace of Lincoln, Ark.; three stepsisters, Kate Cheatum and Dorothy Colyer, both of Prarie Grove, Ark., and Jean Tackett of Farmington, Ark.; nine grandchildren, Jamie, Jennifer and Jacob Redway and Melinda, Carly and Holly Nill, all of Grandfield, and Marti, Nathan and Brie Anna Jones of Crowder.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Grandfield Ambulance Fund or the Grandfield First Baptist Church.
