Virginia Pauline Boothe was born on November 26, 1939. She went to be with the Lord on April 6, 1956 at the age of 16. Her parents are William Edward "Ed" Boothe and Bessie Frances Salyers Boothe. She was one of ten children. Her siblings are: Earnest William, Claude Junior, Frances Noralee, Adaline "Anilou," Charlie Alvin, Opal Arevilla, Hazel, George Edward and Clyde.

On a Easter Sunday, Pauline (the family called "Pogie") went out with a friend on a date. Her sister, Nora, went along as a "chaparone." My Mom did not allow one daughter to go on a date unless one of the other siblings went along as a "chaparone." Some time during the evening, another car with three young men in it ran the car that Pauline, her date and Nora was in into a rock wall. Pauline was in a coma for several days before she went to be with the Lord. Nora suffered a broken back and spent many weeks in recovery. Pauline's date had some cuts and bruises and was treated and released.

One never knows when their number is up, but our family believes God took a very special flower for his garden when he picked Pauline. She was a cheerleader at Pocahontas High School, Pocahontas, Va., and the year she died, the school dedicated the Yearbook to her. She had so much energy and life and her death devastated our family as it was like a shining light had gone out. While her body lies here in this grave, her spirit watches over us and it will never die.

This information is true to the best of my knowledge. I was very young when Pauline went to be with the Lord.
