Robert Franklin Addis Sr., 84, died Friday, September 26, 2008, in Blountstown, Fla. A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. EDT Monday, Sept. 29, at Sanders Cemetery in Hosford, Fla. Family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, September 28, at Bevis Funeral Home - Bristol Chapel (850) 643-3636, www.bevisfh.com ). He was a native of Cleveland, Ohio, He had lived in the Ft. Lauderdale area since 1965 and had moved to Hosford in March 2008. He had been a member of Cypress Presbyterian Church and was a 33rd-degree Mason in the lodge in Pompano Beach, Fla. He was a veteran of World War II, having served with the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Thomas Jefferson, a troop transport ship. He retired from Bell South Telephone Company after 38 years of service. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Dorothy Addis of Hosford; three children, Beth Wright (and husband Jim) of Hosford, Robert Addis Jr. of Miami and Susan Cheshire (and husband Dr. Matthew Cheshire) of Pompano Beach; grandchildren, Glenn Wright (and wife Sharon), Michael Wright (and wife Joan), Jimmy Wright (and wife Phyllis), David Wright, Woody Cheshire (and wife Susie), Cody Cheshire and Amelia Cheshire; and nine great-grandchildren.
