On July 1, 1996 God gave to the world a most precious and beautiful gift in the person of Maiya Lee-Ann Bowman, the daughter of Aldrich Morgan and Tareylon (Bowman) Avery. Maiya attended Grand Blanc West Middle School, where she was going to be in the eighth grade.
She leaves to cherish her memory: parents, Aldrich Morgan of Burton, MI and Tareylon (Bowman) Avery; step father, Derrick Avery, both of Grand Blanc, MI; 2 brothers, Khamani Avery and Derrick Avery, Jr.; sister, Laila Avery; grandparents, Gilbert and Dollie Anderson of Mt. Morris, MI, Cleotha and Joan Morgan of Burton, MI; step grandparents, James, Sr. and Sylvia Avery of Henderson, NV; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Maiya was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Mattie Lee Morgan.
She died accidently while playing "the choking game"
