Emma Gene Wiltrout, 82, of Charlotte, died Saturday, September 19, 2009 at White River Medical Center in Batesville.

She was born in Jacksonport, Arkansas on Friday, July 29, 1927 and was the daughter of Claud and Ruby Jewel (Tillman) Treadway.

Emma was a homemaker and caretaker. Family was the most important thing in her life and she loved cooking for them, especially fried chicken and coconut pies. The family gathered every week-end to eat and visit. Taking pictures of the family was another thing that Emma loved to do. She had a very large garden and she enjoyed canning different vegetables from it. Emma was a good, loving, happy and compassionate mother, grandmother, and mother-in-law. She was a member of the Sulphur Rock Southern Baptist Church.

She is survived by her sons: Edward Wiltrout of Charlotte, Albert Wiltrout of Sulphur Rock, and Bobby Joe Wiltrout of Warrensburg, Missouri; two daughters: Betty Gibbs of Batesville, and Freda Hughes of Sulphur Rock; twelve grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; two brothers: Billy Treadway of Sulphur Rock, and Joe Treadway of Swartz Creek, Michigan; two sisters: Dorothy Whaley of Sulphur Rock, and Evelyn Small of Wappapello, Missouri; and a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Morris.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Wiltrout; two brothers: Boe and Alva Treadway; and an infant sister.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Sulphur Rock Southern Baptist Church with Bro. J. D. Gillmore officiating.

Burial will follow the services at Lee's Chapel Cemetery on Highway 25 between Gainesboro and Moorefield, under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be James Wiltrout, Wayne Gibbs, Shane Martin, Billy Rhoades, James Gipson, Matt Pitcher and Billy Foster.

Honorary pallbearers are Tommy Treadway, Jim Treadway, Paul Treadway, Bruce Treadway, John Treadway and David Treadway.
