Hannah Glass was born in Georgia on 2 April 1802 in the household of Fredrick Marion and Elizabeth Strother Glass. At some point she migrated to Mississippi where she met and married William Alexander. Hannah Glass and William Alexander became the proud parents of Elizabeth Alexander.

After the death of William Alexander in 1830, Hannah and her daughter immigrated to the Republic of Texas. Hannah entered the Republic as a head of a household. As such, she was entitled to a league and labor of land. It was required that the recipient locate the land and have it surveyed before the Land Office would confer title.

In 1836 she and Willis W. Donaho married and lived for a while in and around San Augustine County where they welcomed the birth of Matilda Angeline Donaho. They lived several places in and around the eastern part of Texas. The Land Office closed (in 1845) before Hannah Glass Alexander Donaho found her land and had it surveyed. She re-applied and there was a Special Session of the Legislature to award her the proper amount of land.

Hannah and Willis W. Donaho lived in and around Madison County in 1870. Willis died while there and he is buried in Willowhole Cemetery at North Zulch, Texas. After Willis' death evidently Hannah moved to Johnson County to be closer to her daughter, Elizabeth, who had married Willis' son, Calvin Donaho.

Hannah and her younger sister, Abia Glass Clark, are buried in Sand Flat Cemetery, Johnson County, Texas. For some reason, unknown to the writer, they died on the same day.Wife of Willis Donaho.
