Alfred Pearson Hays

Alfred Pearson Hays, former resident of Pittsburgh and Spanish-American War veteran, died yesterday in his home, Portland, Ore.

Born in old Allegheny in 1859, a son of the late General Alexander and Annie Adams McFadden Hays, Mr. Hays lived here many years before he moved to the West. He served as lieutenant in the Second Regiment, Spanish-American War.

His widow, Rachel E. Allen; a son, Alexander, and a brother, Gilbert A. Hays of Sewickley, survive.

Burial will be in Portland.
