Died Sunday at 6:03 a.m. at the Baton Rouge General Hospital. He was a resident of Walker and a native of Amite County, Miss. He was 73. His body will be at Welch Parlors until 10:15 a.m. Monday with religious services to be at Walker Baptist Church at 11 a.m. conducted by the Rev. H. B. Wilkinson. Interment will be at Palmetto Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be his six grandsons, Daryl Rushing, Claude Stafford, Norris Lee Stafford, Kenneth Stafford, Lester Charles Fletcher, Larry Wayne McDonald.

He is survived by his wife, the former Emma Miller; five sons, Sozo Rushing, U. U. Rushing, Silas R. Rushing, Claiborne C. Rushing, Jr., all of Baton Rouge, and Zelan Rushing, Natchez, Miss.; six daughters, Mrs. Camile Stafford and Mrs. U. J. Landry, Baton Rouge; Mrs. C. W. Burns, Lampoc, Calif.; Mrs. J. D. Fletcher and Mrs. Milan Rogers, Jackson, and Mrs. Bernard McDonald, Denham Springs; two sisters, Mrs. E. J. Reynolds and Mrs. Robinson Martin, Baton Rouge; four brothers, Nelson R. and R. R., Baton Rouge; Creely Rushing and William Rushing, Denham Springs; 33 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

He was a member of the Walker Baptist Church.
