MONMOUTH - M. Doris Bushnell, 89, Monmouth, formerly of Galesburg, died at 11:16 a.m. Sunday (Feb. 11, 2007) in OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg.
She was born Oct. 21, 1917, in Delong, the daughter of Charles M. and Nora E. Brown Stegall.
She married Ralph W. Bushnell on June 21, 1936.
Surviving are two sons, Ralph W. Jr. (and Mary Ann) Bushnell, Monmouth, and Charles R. Bushnell, Alexis; a daughter, Patricia J. Bushnell, Gerlaw; two brothers, Charles K. Stegall, Knoxville, and Rex H. Stegall, Lake Havasu City, Ariz.; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother.
She graduated from Abingdon High School in 1935, and attended secretarial classes in the Quad Cities.
She worked for Cleveland Insurance Agency in Rock Island for five years and O.T. Larsen Agency in Milan for more than 25 years, retiring in 1985. She lived in Galesburg since 1986.
She was baptized in the Christian faith.
She enjoyed word puzzles, reading and crocheting; and was a seamstress.
Service will be at 3 p.m. Thursday in Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel, with the Rev. Ken Muck officiating. Visitation will be 2 to 3 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Abingdon Cemetery.
