Agnes Zena Leedy Boesel, 87, of Brewster, died Tuesday, June 23, 1998 at the Harmony House Health Care Center in Brewster.
She was born August 27, 1910 the daughter of Ernest G and Estella Pearl (Reid) Leedy at Wenatchee. She attended school at Sunnyslope and graduated from the Wenatchee High School.
Agnes was an Apple Blossom Princess in 1927.
On April 18, 1931 she married Floyd Sylvester Boesel at Winthrop.
Agnes was employed at the Farmers state Bank in Winthrop. She helped her husband, Floyd, operate a cattle ranch and dairy for many years. After moving from the ranch, Boesel homestead, she drove school bus and was the custodian at the Winthrop School and also the caretaker of the Sullivan Cemetery.
They moved to Brewster in 1985 to be close to their family.
Agnes joined the Grange in 1941 and was a member of both Winthrop and Brewster. She was a member of the Winthrop United Methodist Church, a member of the Rebekahs Lodge for many years, and has been Grand Lady of the 49ers Parade in Winthrop.
She is survived by her two sons, Jack Boesel of Plymouth, California and Dick Boesel of Brewster; two brothers, Clayton Leedy of Anacortes, Wa.; and Wes Leedy of Renton, Wa.; one sister, Delores Pound of Davenport, Wa.; 6 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Floyd, a son, a grandson, a sister and a brother.
Graveside services were conducted Monday, June 29, 1998 at 1 pm from the Sullivan Cemetery at Winthrop with Claude Miller officiating. Committal service and interment followed. "I with my family and friends to remember me in happier times." Memorials may be made to the Shafer Museum at Winthrop. Services under the direction of Barnes Chapel, Brewster.
