7/18/2022-Quote from page 46 of the book "Deaths, Marriages and Confederate Soldiers, Pickens County, Alabama 1841-1931" compiled by Betty Junkin:
*died November 9, 1880, Allen AGNEW, son of Andrew AGNEW, formerly of Pickens County, in Fannin Co., Texas, after a lengthy illness. He was a brother of Dr. A. W. AGNEW, of P. C. He was born in Abbeville, S. C. in 1818. His father imigrated to P. C. in 1837. In 1842 he married Permelia, a daughter of Col. Nathan SMITH, of P. C., AL. He moved in 1853 to Fannin Co., Texas."
