He was retired from Union Carbide with 42 years of service. He was a member of Abney Street Church of God, St. Albans, and a lifelong resident of Kanawha Valley.
He was proceeded in death by his grandson, George Taylor.
Surviving are his wife, Dorothy Taylor; sons Steve Taylor of Herndon, Va.; James N. Taylor Jr. of St. Albans, Greg Taylor of South Charleston; daughter, Sandra Bayes of South Charleston; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren.
Service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Good Shepherd Mortuary, South Charleston with the Rev. Jack Lawrence officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park, South Charleston.
