Gary Prakel was born in Clinton, the son of George Albert Prakel and Margaret Bateson Prakel. He married Cynthia Wood.
Surviving are his fiancee, Sue Rich; children: Bambie Ellis, Charesa, Lauren, Cindy, Jacinda, Jared and Gary Prakel JR. also surviving are brothers, Carl E. Bateson, James E. Prakel, Mike Prakel, Doug Prakel and Albert Prakel; sisters, Mary Lane, Sue Estes, Brenda Ballace, Debbie Willhoit and Dorothy Hoback and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister.
