Major Gerald W. KING (Retired) Passed away at his home in Lakewood on April 26th, 2009. Jerry was born in Seattle on May 31st, 1943. He attended St. John's and St. Benedict's primary schools, Seattle Prep and Seattle University. After graduation he joined the army and served as a medic for 26 years including 3 tours in Viet Nam for which he received many decorations. After he retired from the military, he worked as a nurse at Western State for 5 years. He joins his brothers Timothy and Anthony in the hereafter and is survived by his loving mother, Patricia Marshall. His remaining brothers John and Paul and his sisters Teresa, Kate, Michelle and Peggy and numerous nieces and nephews. Jerry had many friends, both in the Northwest and all over the country. During his long illness, he received the best of care from his friend and caregiver, David. He advised and encouraged many young people who, I'm sure, will miss his knowledge and sense of humor which made him uniquely "Jerry". On May 14, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. there will be a Funeral Mass at St. Mary Magdalen Church in Everett at 8517 7th Ave SE, followed by a celebration of life in the Parish Hall. That same afternoon at 2:00 p.m. he will be interred with military honors at Tahoma National Cemetery at 18600 SE 240th St., Kent, WA. Goodbye Jerry ~ We'll miss you!
