CHARLESTON - Graveside services for Addie Mae Polk, 93, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the Varnville Cemetery in Varnville directed by Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home in Hampton. Friends may call at the Chapel in Hampton from 4-7 p.m. today and Monday morning prior to services.
Mrs. Polk, widow of the late Harry Hagood Polk, died early Saturday morning in the Grady Hipp Nursing Center in Greenville after an extended illness.
She was born in Furman (Hampton County) December 3, 1905, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Sarah Patterson Mixon. She had worked as a Sales-Lady with Sears in Charleston for many years, and was a member of the Jehovah's Witnesses Church.
