Actually born on a farm just north northeast of Hazel Green in a community called Jefferson which later became Lewisburg and is now pretty much just a cluster of farmhouses. Went to the mines in upper Michigan as a young man and then went to Harrison Co., IA with the rest of the family before finally moving to Colorado, first to the Steamboat Springs area on a farm and then to the Grand Junction area, a settlement calle Pomona.
