ENGLEWOOD - Mrs. Daphne G. Stanaland Curlee, 82, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2009 in Louisville, GA of heart failure.
Mrs. Curlee was born Oct. 4, 1926 in Hillsborough County, FL to Jeptha and Susan Albritton Stanaland. She was the owner/operator of Marathon Hardware in Marathon, FL for 40 years until her retirement, where she moved to Buffalo, Wyoming and came from there to Englewood, FL in Aug., 2006. Mrs. Curlee was a graduate of Florida Southern College, Lakeland, FL, a former Elementary School teacher in Arcadia, FL, and a member of Fellowship Primitive Baptist Church, Fort Lonesome, FL.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Curlee and all of her siblings. Mrs. Curlee is survived by 30 nieces and nephews and several great and great-great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 10:00am-11:00am, Saturday, Sept. 26, 2009 at the Fellowship Primitive Baptist Church, Fort Lonesome, FL with funeral services following at 11:00am. Interment will be held in the Fellowship Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Fellowship Primitive Baptist Church.
