Grandpa was born in Koweta county, Georgia, January 5, 1816, being 88 years, 4 months and 11 days old at his death. He moved from Georgia to Alabama, later married Miss Francis Crenshaw of Sumter county, Alabama. United with the Baptist Church, moved to Missisippi, then to Texas. He has lived on the old home place since 1870, was a member of the Baptist Church at Sardis, and was laid to rest in Sardis Cemetery.
Four sons and one daughter are left to mourn his loss. He was loved by one and all. Grandma joined the redeemed singers 11 years ago.
Dear kindred, if we lean upon the same precious Savior that they leaned upon, we shall see papa and mamma and grandpa and grandma, so let's dry our tears and think of the precious treasures we have in Heaven, and live so that one day we may join them there.
