Wilma J. Roby, 91, formerly of Cantril, died at 12:40 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 29, 1996, at Van Buren Good Samaritan Center in Keosauqua. Born June 2, 1905, in Pella, she was the daughter of William and Margaret Smorenburg
Vanderlinden. On June 29, 1927, she married Carl Roby in Fairfield. He died in 1978. Mrs. Roby was a homemaker. She lived most of her life in Davis and Van Buren counties, including many years in Milton and Cantril.
Survivors include two daughters, Eileen Boyd of Des Moines and Bonnie Alexander of Indianola; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, three brothers and one sister. Open visitation will begin at 2 p.m. today at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua. The funeral for Mrs. Roby will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Pedrick Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jerry Caughron officiating. Burial will be in Sunnyside Cemetery in Milton.
