William Carl Roby, 77, died Thursday afternoon at the Davis County Hospital. He was a retired custodian of the Milton and Cantril cemeteries. He was born July 23, 1900 at Stockport to Estel and Mary Donaho Roby. He was a lifelong resident of Davis and Van Buren Counties. On June 29. 1927, he married Wilma Jean Vanderlinden at Fairfield.
Survivors include his widow of Cantril; a son, Edward of Fort Madison; two daughters, Beatrice Boyd of Des Moines and Bonnie Alexander of Seymour; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Hazel Anderson of Fullerton, Calif. and a brother, Joe of Chicago.
Funeral services were held Saturday at the Wagler Funeral Home conducted by the Rev. Merrill Yoakam. Burial was in the Sunnyside Cemetery in Milton. A memorial has been established to the Iowa Heart Association.
