Word was received Friday morning of the death of Hardy Edward McCaskill, formerly of Smithville, but most recently of Elgin. For several years he suffered bad health and was in a rest home.
He was born October 30, 1879, the son of Kenneth H. and Elizabeth Gertrude McCaskill.
Earlier in life, he was a member of the firm of Dawson and Schuler, wholesale grocery firm of Chicasha [sic], Okla., also serving as bookkeeper for the firm.
Services were conducted from the Marrs Funeral Home Saturday at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Brice Peacock conducting, assisted by Rev. Cliff Alford. Soft organ music was rendered by Mrs. T. J. Herrington.
He is survived by three sisters, Mrs. M.J. Tillman of Smithville, Mrs. Ethel Richardson of El Paso, and Mrs. Ella Lusk of Fort Worth; also several nieces and nephews.
