Obituary in The Bienville Democrat May 13, 1948:

Robert L. Phillips, age 70 years, prominent Bryceland citizen, died suddenly Monday, May 10 of a heart attack. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Bryceland Baptist Church with Rev. Paul West, pastor, officiating. Burial was in the Bryceland [sic-Williamson] Cemetery with funeral arrangements under the direction of Conger Funeral Home.

Surviving the deceased is his widow, Mrs. Audie Rhodes Phillips; four daughters, Mrs. A.L. Madden, Mrs. J.P. Whitlock, and Miss Bobby Jean Phillips, all of Bryceland, and Mrs. Nellie Moss of Houston Texas; one son, Paul B. Phillips of Bryceland; one step-son, O.D. Greer of Shreveport of Shreveport; and one step-daughter, Mrs. Ray Sanders of near Arcadia.
