Leona E. Hutchinson
Funeral Services for Mrs Leona E. Hutchinson of El Reno will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov 7. 7, in the Wesley United Methodist Church. Dr. Guy C. Ames III, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be El Reno Cemetery with services directed by Wilson Funeral Home.
Mrs. Hutchinson died Sunday, Nov. 5 1989, in Park View Hospital. She was born Feb. 26, 1910 in Bloomington, Ill. She moved to Kearney, Neb., at a young age and attended school there. Leona E. Stefanski was married to Phinehas H.
Hutchinson in 1928 in Kearney. They owned and operated a nursery for several years before coming to El Reno in 1937. Mr. and Mrs. Hutchinson owned and operated the Hutchinson Nursery here in El Reno for many years. Mrs. Hutchinson received a special award from the El Reno Chamber of Commerce in 1982 for meritorious service to the community.
She was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church, the Berean Sunday school class and Circle No. 4 of United Methodist Women. She was a member of El Reno Senior Citizens and played the piano in the Happy Days Seniors Band.
Mrs. Hutchinson was also a member of the Red Bud Garden Club, TOPS club and the Never Grow Old Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Phinehas H. Hutchinson and a daughter Ida May Dorothy Hutchinson.
Survivors include two sons, Jack Hutchinson of
Kearney Neb., and Paul Hutchinson, El Monte, Calif.;
one daughter, ..., one brother, Roland Stefanski of
Kearney; two sisters, Maxine Kelle of Lincoln, Neb.,
and Frances Brandhorst of Florissant, Ill., 10
grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
