Fred Rish, 76, who until 12 years ago was custodian at the Wabash Post Office, died Friday evening at 10 o'clock in the home of his daughter, Mrs. R.J. Ball in East Chicago.
Mr. Rish had made his home at 70 West Sinclair street in Wabash. He had been in failing health for the past year and had left a week ago to be with his daughter. Death was attributed to heart trouble.
Mr. Rish was born in Wabash on Feb. 15, 1866 to Jacob and Mary Rish. He had spent his entire life in Wabash. His wife, Inez (Blake) Rish preceded him in death.
Survivors include two daughters, Violet (Mrs. R.J.) Ball of East Chicago and Mrs. Eva White of Indianapolis; one granddaughter, Mrs. James Bateman of East Chiago; and one sister, Mrs. Nellie Bullard of Benton Harbor, Mich. and two brothers, E.L. Rish of Marion and Charles Rish of Wabash.
Mr. Rish was a member of the Masonic Order.
The body will arrive in Wabash Saturday night and be taken to the Jones Funeral home where friends may call. Services will be held Monday afternoon at 1 o'clock in the Jones Funeral home with the Masonic Lodge in charge of the service. Burial will be in Falls cemetery.
