PETERSBURG - Hubert "Pick" VanEman, 89, of Petersburg died Saturday, Feb. 19, 2000, at his residence.
He was born Oct. 13, 1910, in Menard County, the son of Frank W. and Laura McKee VanEman. He married Martha L. Derry in 1935 in Atterberry; she preceded him in death in 1988.
Mr. VanEman was secretary/treasurer of the Lebanon Cemetery Board for many years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Petersburg, Menard County Farm Bureau and Ayerco Coffee Club.
Survivors: two sons, Dale (wife, Ann) VanEman of Athens and Daniel (wife, Rosalyn) VanEman of Middletown; two daughters, Bonnie (husband, Larry) Heyen of Petersburg and Shirley (husband, Joe) Honeycutt of Clear Lake, Iowa; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Bakur of Charlottesville, Va., and Velda (husband, Calvin) Miller of Elgin; and several nieces and nephews.
Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, First Baptist Church of Petersburg, the Rev. Don Neisler and the Rev. Curtis Stanner officiating. Burial: Lebanon Cemetery.
