Foster's maternal grandparents were Bettie Wimberley Hardwick and her husband James Jackson Hardwick. His maternal great-grandparents were Isaac Jackson Wimberley and his wife Texana Belle Mayes Wimberley. His maternal great-great-grandparents were Pleasant Wimberley and his wife Amanda Julian Jackson Wimberley.
He died at the age of five from Hodgkin's Disease. He was buried in Llano Cemetery where many of his mother's family were buried.
